Cirque du Soleil’s Mad Apple Ends Its New York-New York Run After Four Seasons

Published September 8, 2026

Mad Apple, the Cirque du Soleil show that paired acrobatics with a live stand-up comedy set inside New York-New York, played its final performance on September 5. The run lasted four years and was the first Cirque du Soleil resident production to feature a stand-up comedy segment. It closes in the same stretch as another Strip show, Awakening at Wynn, which is set to end its run on October 10.

A Four-Year Run Built On A Different Formula

Mad Apple opened in 2022 as Cirque du Soleil’s attempt at a nightlife-themed variety show, mixing acrobatics, live music, dance, magic and a rotating stand-up comedy segment inside its own theater at New York-New York. That stand-up element set it apart from every other Cirque production on the Strip, none of which had built a resident show around a comedy set before. Its closing adds to a run of Strip entertainment closures this year. Anyone who had Mad Apple on their Vegas list this fall will need to look elsewhere for a Strip production show to fill that night.

Four Cirque Residencies Are Still Running The Strip

Mad Apple’s closing still leaves four Cirque du Soleil residencies open on the Strip. KA runs at MGM Grand with acrobatics staged on a moving platform, and tickets currently start at $80. Mystère continues at Treasure Island with one of the longest-running Cirque residencies in Las Vegas, and “O” still performs its water-stage show at Bellagio. Michael Jackson ONE rounds out the group at Mandalay Bay. Between the four, there is a Cirque show dark on almost any given night of the week, so a canceled Mad Apple booking has a real replacement. KA tickets are the closest match for anyone who wanted an acrobatics-driven show at MGM Grand.

New York-New York Still Has Plenty On Property

Losing Mad Apple does not empty out New York-New York’s entertainment lineup. The hotel still anchors its own stretch of the Strip near MGM Grand and Excalibur, and travelers who built a trip around seeing a show there can shift to KA a short walk away instead of scrapping the whole night. Anyone booking around this closure should also double check showtimes before locking in dinner reservations, since Strip theaters do not always run at the same start time. For a broader lineup beyond Cirque, the Las Vegas show calendar covers everything still on sale this month.

Book Your Next Strip Show With Spotlight

Mad Apple’s four-year run is over, but the Strip’s Cirque du Soleil lineup is not. Lock in KA, “O”, Mystere or Michael Jackson ONE through Spotlight before this week’s shows sell out.
