Step into the enigmatic world of Ancient Egypt with Soulful Creatures: Animal Mummies in Ancient Egypt, the newest exhibition at Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, presented in partnership with the Brooklyn Museum. Sparked by the rediscovery of uncatalogued boxes containing 30 animal mummies, this exhibition unveils a rarely seen and deeply intriguing aspect of Egyptian ritual culture.
Featuring nearly 100 authentic artifacts, guests will encounter animal mummies alongside CT scans, x-rays, ancient Egyptian art, and ceremonial objects that reveal how and why animals were mummified. The exhibition offers compelling insights into the origins, techniques, and spiritual significance of animal mummification, presenting thought-provoking theories that shed new light on these ancient practices.
Organized by renowned curators Yekaterina Barbash and Edward Bleiberg of the Brooklyn Museum, Soulful Creatures blends archaeology, science, and storytelling into a visually striking and educational experience. This is a must-see exhibition for history lovers, culture seekers, and anyone curious about the sacred bond between humans and animals in Ancient Egypt.
